Here’s a simple breakdown:

• Feed efficiency: They convert feed to body weight very efficiently
• Body type: Broad breast, heavy body
• Housing: Raised in a controlled environment to manage temperature, health, and feed intake.
• Easier to chew and digest

These are Soft Meat Chickens (Not Cornish/Hard Body)

These Soft meat chickens are raised for tender texture, juiciness, and easier digestion, rather than just rapid weight gain.

What makes them different:

• Soft-body / slower-grown: 2.0 – 2.5 kg

Slaughtered Weight (Dressed Weight)

This is the weight after slaughter and cleaning.

Removed:

• Internal organs

What remains:

• Meat
• Bones
• Skin

Average Yield

Chickens usually yield 65–72% of their live weight after slaughter.

• 2.0 kg live → ± 1.3 – 1.4 kg dressed
• 2.5 kg live → ± 1.6 – 1.8 kg dressed
• 3.0 kg live → ± 1.9 – 2.1 kg dressed

Slower-grown / soft-meat birds often sit slightly lower on weight but higher on eating quality.
